From Danny
Was this the face that launched a
thousand ships? Only if this was the
body that rocked the party. Debbie--
charmed chameleon of paralyzing beauty
and deft mentality; hybrid haven of
epic insight and mommy-I-want-that-one-
and-I'm-not-leaving-without-her
loveliness; "Unto us lowliest sometimes
sweep, descend, and of this curveship
lend a myth to god."
From Jess
She’s a little girl,
In her dreams
Filled with clouds and down
Of dandelions
Soft, to break her falls.
Safe, these dreams
They seep into her days
She might not see you
Passing by,
With eyes on
Something like heaven
Or high fashion,
Smooth and comfortable,
Unattainable.
Beauty lives in her.
Outside we see it,
But she forgets
Locked inside mirror fragments
Of sadness and regret
Reckless-hearted Ella
Driving fast without her top
Life is slow,
Until she smiles,
Until she sees a horizon
Perfect as the paintings in her head.
